Rome is made of sampietrini: no two are alike, each with its own shape, color, and mark. This is how our community is: diverse, plural, and strong.

On June 20, 2026, the streets of the Capital will once again be filled with colors and demands for Roma Pride 2026. This year, the LGBTQIA+ community’s demonstration for the defense of rights, visibility, and real equality brings with it an image deeply rooted in the city’s visual and cultural identity: that of the sampietrini (Rome’s traditional cobblestones).
The image of the sampietrini becomes the perfect symbol for Roma Pride 2026: just like the famous Roman cobblestones—unique yet united in forming the city’s pavement—the LGBTQIA+ community walks together in the same direction, celebrating its extraordinary diversity. In a complex international context marked by attacks on civil rights, the parade represents a path to be built together, day after day, to demand concrete protections, safety, and visibility.
